God is Good!

"Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the desert. By day the pillar of cloud did not cease to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take."

-Nehemiah 9:19

Isn't it funny how God can lead you down a new road and you didn't even know that you had made a turn?

Our turn happened when we had decided to meet our friend at the Jazz and Wine Festival in Mckinney a couple of months back and had a fantastic time. I remember when we first entered the fair grounds that a very nice lady came over and gave Nathan a balloon. He held onto it the entire time we were there and thought he was the coolest kid around with his balloon. On the balloon was a Church name: St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Tony and I had been looking for a new Church home and had been to a couple already in the past month that were very nice, but not "us". I remember mentioning that I didn't know about St. Andrews in McKinney to Tony and saying we should look into it.

In May we decided that God was steering us to find a new Church agian, so the search began. When trying to find a Church it is very hard to make the trip from the car to the Church, so many questions run thru your head. Will the service be different or will I sit in someone's seat?

After a couple of different Churches we were sitting at home one Saturday tryng to decide where we would go the next day. Tony and I instantly remember "the balloon"!!! We got onto the computer and looked up the service times and decided to go to the 10 o'clock service.

Now 3 months we haven't looked back. Father Mike actually called us the Monday after we attended and scheduled a lunch with Tony and I so that we could discuss any questions we had. I think one of my favorite things about St. Andrews is the Children's Church. There are lots of kiddos around Nate's age and every Sunday all the children go up and have a mini sermon with Father Mike before they go back to Children's Church and return after our sermon. Nate really enjoys this time and runs up to the front, we actually had to talk with him because a couple of times he has planted himself right next to Father Mike like he was leading the discussion :). Silly Nate!

A couple of Sundays ago we were able to have fellowship time at a Potluck Pool Party! It was very relaxing and AWESOME to meet so many great people. I grabbed a couple of pics from the afternoon and I know that they will be followed up with many more events:)
God is Good!

We don't really know what the kiddos were looking for...but they were looking hard!
